Windows Live Essentials

Posted on January 9th, 2009, by Nam 3 Comments

As of yesterday, Microsoft has finalized Windows Live Essentials. This is a feature pack that supposed to enhance Windows 7 (Vista and XP are supported as well). My favorites are Live Messenger, Mail, Photo Gallery and Writer (I’m using Writer to write this post, very convenient indeed).

Windows Live Messenger was demoed at CES 2009 showing off a brand new feature called Dynamic Picture, as an replacement to traditional static profile picture. With Dynamic Picture, you can now record a short video clip to express yourself. Emotions are supported as well.  I encourage you all to try it out yourself.

Side news: Windows 7 Beta will be available Jan 9th @ Microsoft. For those who already running Windows 7 build 7000, all you’ll need is the beta key.

Update: use A-patch to simplify the UI of Live Messenger further more. (Removing Ads and unnecessary stuff)
