Here is a small tweak to use a Windows 7 login screen along with the Windows 7 M3 PDC theme for Vista we blogged about earlier.
This is made by a deviantart artist called Pugalenthi and I’m happy to say that he has done an awesome job. This login screen is by far the best working screen for windows Vista, It works perfect I have tested it
*** PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS FOR 32 BIT SYSTEMS ONLY ***
Here are some steps to follow to use this fabulous login screen for Vista
- Download the login screen from Pugalenthi’s gallery, or from the Mirror.
- Download Logon Studio Vista from Stardock.
- Download “Take-ownership” to right-click menu Reg file – [Download].
- Install Logon Studio Vista.
- Install the “Take Ownership” Reg Entry.
- Unzip the .rar File.
- Load the logon file provided using Logon Studio Vista and apply it. Now you will see the new login screen.
- To change the branding in login screen from “Windows Vista Ultimate” to “Windows 7 Ultimate” go to c:\windows\branding\basebrd in that folder you will find a .dll file called basebrd.dll.
- Right click and “OWN” it, and rename it to Backup_basebrd.dll.
- Copy and paste the new basebrd, dll from Pugalenthi’s rar the archive into this folder.
Enjoy Windows 7 Login Screen in Vista.
