Make Firefox Feel Like Safari
One of my favorite features in safari is the progressbar built into the addressbar. which is wonderful to use and nice to look at. Unfortunately to use this feature and looks you need to use Safari which is a terrible browser. But here is a workaround so that you can have the looks and addressbar loading functions of safari into Firefox.
First of all you need the following
1. A nice mac look firefox theme, I personally recommend iSafari get them on below links
Foxdie (Aqua) – https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6124
Foxdie (Graphite) – https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6174
iSafari – https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4927
2. Safari addressbar emulation script Get it Below
Fission – https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1951
3. A Safari Progressbar Gradient, This one is designed by Me, but feel free to use your own design if you want.
Steps to get Started
1. Install the theme you prefer on firefox, Foxdie works with Firefox 2 only.
Extra Note: after testing all the skins, I personally prefer iSafari (3rd Option above).
2. Install the Fission script provided above.
3. Download the gradient and place it in a folder that you are sure from which it will not get deleted, I personally recommend firefox program folder for example C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\, but you are free to put it anywhere you like just make sure that the gradient will not get deleted in the future.
4. Goto the Menu Option Tools – > Addons – > Select Extensions Tab and click Fission and select options and give the path of the saved gradient. Look at the screenshot below.
5. Do any other theme customizations you want. If you are using Foxdie, follow the instructions on the foxdie download page carefully. foxdie comes with a lot of cutomizations you can access them at Tools-> Addons-> Themes-> right-click on foxdie and click about foxdie to bring up the customization menu.
6. Restart browser, for it to look like safari. Here is the screenshot for my browser.

when you say feel…do you refer to just the looks or even the response speed ?

well i was mentioning the look only, there is no way to change the browser behaviour. safari is a horrible browser to live with, but its fast for some sites. and screws up in most sites
