I have run CheckSUR and SFC but keep getting error 800B0100. Any help is appreciated.

right now the best solution is to
1. Back up your personal data
2. Format system partition
3. Re install Vista
4. Install the Service pack (windows update or standalone)

believe me if you have done all the mentioned fixes this is the best solution

Sorry 80070005 – IE crashed on me as I was typing!

I’ve tried disabling my AVG Free, tried looking for updates to delete says I’ve not got any which I know I did have, tried sfc/scannow says I don’t have permissions when I am logged in as Administrator…tried re-naming a something or other file as per other advice, tried doing something with permissions…I’m getting no-where and I’m getting desperate.

If I do a system restore I lose stuff is that right? I bought a WD external hard drive and it doesn’t seem to synch properly with my pc and whatever I try with that I can’t get it to get all my stuff off…

Hi can someone help me.

I cannot do any windows updates, cant get Vista SP2, cant install iTunes, can’t install my printer software, basically can’t install b&gger all!

I’ve tried every fix I’ve found on the internet to no avail.

My error code is 8007000

I had the same problem and microsoft itself helped me, their technical support writed me a mail that said i have to delete update: KB972036, when i did it, the SP2 installed normally

1. What is your virus guard? do you have any other security softwares(Firewall,antimalware..etc)

2. Have you edited any windows files?

3. Do you have any disk imaging programs installed?(daemon tools,Alcohol…)

4. Did you try installing the standalone SP2 setup?.

installing service pack 2 but it hangs at the 1 of 3 -17% and just sits there… forever…

i want to disable the antivirus.. but every time i restart or even try to recover it just boots as normal and then contiues to hang at 17%

the recover disk dosn’t seem to be able to do much… system restore also is of no help…

do you have any services disabled? or have you modified any system files?
Looks like some of the files that should be replaced are corrupted or somehow cant be overwritten.
Try the usual remedies mentioned in the comments(disabling 3rd party start-up,anti-virus,firewall etc..)

also check if System Event Notification Service is not disabled

Anyway now that its screwed up you can try to use system restore.
If by any chance you do not have a restore point you have two options
1. Backup your files and do a clean install
2. Install vista over the current and reinstall SP2
