Ad Destroy 6.0: For Yahoo Messenger
As you probably know after Dedndave stopped releasing patches for new yahoo builds (Yahoo Messenger 10) there wasn’t an alternative to patch yahoo messenger. Yahoo Messenger 10.0.0.525 beta has been officially released. Now you can download it directly from yahoo instead of the leaked copy(version 10.0.0.331). Yahoo messenger 10 includes some feature improvements and added social network support. As for features these are the main it has to offer:
1. High quality video calls(HiDef): The video call feature has been redesigned to support high quality video streaming with synced audio. And the video call is made in the chat window to reduce space usage. Full screen support has also been added.
2. New Yahoo Insider page: The yahoo Insider page has a more “different” look rather than the dull page nobody liked. It does still have news feeds,weather and mailbox notification.
Webmail Via Firefox
Most people hate email clients and prefer webmail. Well I’m no different. Email clients are slow and they get stuck when you receive huge attachments they are prone to virus attacks and the disadvantage list goes on. Web mail on the other hand is faster easily accessible and has built in virus scanning and you only need to download an attachment when you really need to view it (and not always like an email client).
For those of you who use Firefox and multiple web mail accounts like Live, Gmail and Yahoo, here is a superb Firefox extension which notifies you when you receive the mails. Simply add the username and the password of each of your accounts and the webmail notifier takes care of checking you mails in regular intervals (this can be set in the preferences) and notifying you if you receive any new mails.

Recently the Yahoo Messenger 9 was released, and at once it was clear that all add removing techniques which were used in the older builds, like version 8.x (early builds) became obsolete.
The new versions were more resistant to patching. Therefore they needed some more fiddling around and finally there is a patch which can be used by all to remove the annoying ads from this messenger, like the previous technique this is also a registry hack but it has more to do than registry hack, it makes the yahoo ads cache read only so new ads will not load after the patching process.

Add a search provider right in your start menu
In the vista start menu, when you type a name of a program, there are two options displayed, one ?Search Everywhere? and two ?Search the Internet?. This is a small tweak to add Google or any other of your Internet Search provider to launch when you click ?Search the Internet? button.
This method uses the Group Policy editor, but unfortunately Vista HomeBasic and HomePremium do not contain group policy editor, therefore I have included a small registry fix to solve this.
