LastPass : The Last Password You Have To Remember

Posted by Joel 24 August, 2008 (5) Comment

My dreams of having an online password repository has become true. This is one of the best password solutions offered so far, and its fabulous. Say you have multiple computers and lots of passwords?. how will you remember and keep track of them?

Simple create a LastPass account and go on adding you sites. This is very useful and very secure because LastPass only stores the encrypted version of your passwords online. The real saved passwords are safe in your computer away from any online hackers and even in your PC they are saved on encrypted form. This is the best password syncing solution ever provided. Let?s hope everybody appreciates how good it is without being cynical.

This is actually an inspired password storage and syncing solution similar to Foxmarks bookmarks synchronizer.

While installing, the software seamlessly imports Firefox and Internet Explorer?s password list and syncs it with their server.

Here are some screenshots please do try it out and let me have your feedback. I?m completely sold. I switched to it fully today and enjoying every moment of my browsing. Best of all LastPass is totally FREE!

Works Perfectly with IE 7 and Firefox

Posted by Joel 18 February, 2008 (4) Comment

We regularly have to create loads of PDF files, maybe for portability and to transfer easily to other people or even to share with other people conveniently.

All this time the only pdf creator was Adobe Acrobat Writer which was not only expensive but also huge and took a lot of hard disk space. So the people who cannot afford such prices were left in the mercy of online PDF creation websites, where you have to create your PDF document by uploading your document and wait for some time after which the converted document will be emailed to you.

But most people did not like the idea of submitting their important confidential files and email addresses to a websites due to privacy reasons.

Throttle Bandwidth of Firefox and IE

Posted by Joel 12 February, 2008 (0) Comment

firefox_throttle.png

Why would anyone want to throttle the bandwidth of Firefox or Internet Explorer ? That was my first thought when I read about two tiny apps for Firefox and Internet Explorer for the first time at Sizlopedia. I mean, it is normally the other way round. You download some large file or use P2P networks and want to use a browser as well which means that there should be a way to assign a minimum amount of bandwidth for the browser instead of throttling it. Everyone should be capable of not download large files or browsing all those rich entertainment websites if he really needs the bandwidth for something else.

Have an instant talk using portable VoIP apps

Posted by Joel 12 February, 2008 (0) Comment

Assuming you have some kind of headset or at least a cheap mike with speakers in the worst case, I bet you?ve already tried using some voice-over-IP services and you may have liked it except its being rather inflexible, heavy and maybe even complicated to set up.

In that case, you might appreciate the possibility to immediately start a conversation with anyone without needing to install a Skype-type application on your computer and registering for an account it requires you to have. Additionally, if typing contests aren?t your favorite sort of competition and you spend a lot of time writing text messages via regular messengers, this could be a good way of saving a bit of it.

The only thing you need to get connected via voice is a light-weight, no-install application named PicoPhone. Squeezed in negligible 55 kB, this simple-interfaced utility enables you to establish a connection with another party or receive a call by just letting it run in background while it carefully listens to incoming calls on a default or another specified port.
