Backing up custom emoticons and display pictures is always a headache when you want to uninstall messenger or upgrade messenger or even if they get deleted accidentally. Well all your worries are thing of the past with CEDP Backup Wizard. This is one of the most important and useful tools I use for my Live messenger. This tool ensures that I have all the emoticons, display pictures and favorite backgrounds backed up.
Why you need the CEDP Backup Wizard
- To protect against possibly losing the files in the future
- Creating a copy of files for transfer to another Messenger account or computer (e.g. from laptop to home PC)
- Saving all your emoticons, etc before formatting
- To backup MSN emoticons, etc before upgrading MSN/Live Messenger versions
- To share some/all of your Messenger graphics with a friend
Here are the steps to backup the custom stuff in your messenger (including custom emoticons, backgrounds and display pictures):
A-Patch for Windows Live Messenger 9(14.0.3921.0717)
A-Patch has been updated for Windows Live Messenger 9.0 beta (14.0.3921.0717). Some options have been removed due to them not being needed and some options including the "Live Preview" have been temporarily disabled until a future A-Patch build.
If you want to download WLM9 it can be found in the forum.
Make Firefox Remember Passwords of Hotmail, Live, MSN & Yahoo Sites
Have you ever wondered why does not Firefox prompt you to save passwords, for the above mentioned sites? Well the fact of the matter is that they tell Firefox not to, due to security issues. If you are a user and have multiple accounts with yahoo or with any of the above mentioned sites, and you browse them from your home, this is for you. If you are checking your mail from work please stop reading now because if you enable this in your office computer others might get into your mail account.
Considering this event in mind, and to increase your privacy, some sites, including many banks and a few other sites such as Yahoo Mail and Microsoft Passport, tell browsers not to remember passwords for visitors using autocomplete=?off?. This bookmarklet makes the browser ignore autocomplete=?off? temporarily, allowing you to save passwords even on sites that use autocomplete=?off?.
So here is how to make Firefox remember passwords for sites like yahoo, flickr, MSN, Live etc.
Direct Links for Windows Live Components
First of all as you know to download windows live components such as Live Messenger, Live Mail, Photo Gallery…etc you have to download Windows Live Installer and download through that.
This method is the recommended way to install Windows Live products but sometimes the installer gets stuck halfway for no reason or if you want to reinstall you would have to download all over again.
So to end all those frustrations here are direct links to Live Components and instructions on how to install them.
