Apple has released iTunes 8.2 which includes many accessibility improvements, bug fixes and support for iPhone and iPod touch using firmware version 3. Also QuickTime has some security and compatibility improvements.

Syncing your Windows calendar to your iPod
For some reason, iTunes cannot sync a Windows Calendar calendar to an iPod. Why? I have no idea, but my guess is, Office Outlook is the only PIM which runs on both Windows and OS X. Don’t misunderstand me, Office 2007 is great, and so is the new Outlook, but still, for PIMing, I prefer the simple, integrated Calendar. Songbird: an ITunes replacement that does not suck

Most people use ITunes to sync tracks with their IPods. But installing ITunes is a tedious job and even after that it uses loads of CPU as well as memory and slows down everything. Besides that It installs QuickTime when you do not want it to and demands QuickTime rather than running with QuickTime alternative.
This has made many users who do not want to install QuickTime unhappy, but now there is a alternative. It has been here for a while but only a few know about it. Its Songbird an ITunes look alike media player with superb IPod sync capabilities, very good playback quality, very fast, doesn’t need you to install QuickTime and uses a lot less CPU than ITunes.
When you consider its interface it is not much different from ITunes so it will be easier for those of you to switch to it. Simply said, its a Customized Firefox browser with superb playback functions and a skin, so it doesn’t need any file associations or anything to be installed other than that. Install iTunes without QuickTime
When you download iTunes, it has a whole bundle of softwares with it. iTunes is one of the best music management softwares out there with superb album management coupled with album art browsing and some nice trendy features. It will be more useful for people who use ipods and like to sync their ipod with the PC.
Unfortunately most people do not like QuickTime an Apple audio playback and encoding plugin. Instead most use QuickTime Lite or QuickTime Alternative.
So here is a tip to install iTunes without QuickTime.
