Opera 10 Turbo Preview
Opera has released a preview version of their browser included with the new opera technology called “Opera Turbo”. What this turbo thing does is that it uses server side optimization to compress the amount of data so the total amount to be downloaded will be reduced. This is similar to their “opera mini” optimization. Also this turbo function doesn’t help much (no need to actually) if you have a fast connection but its a very good experience if you use a slow connection(dialup maybe). I’ve tested the turbo function and it does seem a bit faster except in some cases the image quality is compromised heavily when in turbo mode. Secure connections(SSL) are not routed through opera servers and they will be connected directly so there is no threat to your sensitive data. This release is compatible with Windows/Mac OSX/Linux.
The turbo button can be found on the lower left of your browser

The internet will die in 30 years
In 2038, exactly 30 years from now, a bug in Unix will cause all computers running a Unix-based OS to crash. The biggest problem is that most internet servers run Unix, so a majority of websites will be down. “The 2038 bug”, as it is called, is a problem with how the system processes time, similar to the y2k bug. Unix systems will show the time as a negative number because they encode the time in a 32-bit format, counting seconds form midnight on January 1, 1970. That last number that will work in that format will be the time at 3:14 A.M. on January 19, 2038.
Find As You Type for Internet Explorer
Certain applications, such as the Emacs text editor and Mozilla Firefox, provide a very convenient method of searching in a document: every time you type text in the search box it automatically searches the document. You don’t need to click “Find” or do anything else, just type, and it’ll search. This type of search is sometimes called “interactive search”, “incremental search” or “look ahead search”. I call it “find as you type”.
Unfortunately, Internet Explorer does not provide this functionality, not even in Internet Explorer 7. Fortunately, Internet Explorer can be extended which allows third party developers to close this gap.
Find As You Type for Internet Explorer is an add-on for Internet Explorer 6 and newer that provides this kind searching functionality. It adds a toolbar to Internet Explorer where you can type search terms, and it will find them, as you type.

Limit and Control Upload and Download Bandwidth – Traffic Shaper XP
Several applications that connect to the Internet have options to limit the upload and download bandwidth. This is excellent if you need bandwidth for other tasks as well, for instance if you want to watch Internet TV while downloading from P2P networks. But what can you do if an application that connects to the Internet does not have such an option, if it regularly uses all of your bandwidth and slows down other applications because of it ?
Take all those TV streaming clients based on P2P technology or software updates for applications like World of Warcraft. They do not offer an option to limit the bandwidth.
Visualize Firefox History
The original Firefox history lists the recently visited websites in a sidebar displaying only the titles of the websites that the user has visited. The change is high to visit the wrong page if a website uses the same or a similar title for all of it pages. There is also no indication of when that website was visited.
