Posted by Joel 24 December, 2008 (0) Comment

clear private data

Here is another cool extension which I added to my favorite Firefox extensions list, Clear Private Data. What this actually does is open up your Firefox Private Data Cleaner dialog box Using a One Click Toolbar Button or through a right-click action, no more Alt+Shift+Del Nonsense.

Very useful for those who wish to clear their private data after browsing.

Works with Firefox 1.5 – 3.2a1pre

FoxTab – Vista Aero built into Firefox

Posted by Joel 24 September, 2008 (3) Comment

Have you ever wondered what if you could have the 3D window flipping effects in Firefox without greatly reducing the performance of the browser?

Well think no more, there is a beautiful extension out there which I believe does it perfectly and even above expectations. I think it was inspired by both the CoolIris extension and the Vista Aero switcher. I just installed it and absolutely love it, although in the recent past some browsers like SpaceTime 3D were released to simulate the aero effect, but they were very slow and hogged the system resources. But I’m glad to say this only takes additional 40 MB 25MB of memory to provide these beautiful effects (but the memory usage is consistent, meaning 25MB is used extra all the time the browser is open)no other browser will give you, right in Firefox.

Its still in experimental phase and I hope it comes out of “Experimental” soon. Since this plugin is experimental, you need a free Mozilla account to download it.

Glasser – Aero Glass For Firefox 3

glasser-scrshot

Have you ever wondered, will there be a 100% working solution that will make the Firefox skin transparent like IE7, while preserving all functions as well as look good?

Well wonder no more. It has been made, its a Firefox 3 extension called Glasser. This is not a theme, but an extension (or plug-in if you prefer to call it that way). It needs the default Firefox theme for it to work, and my god its beautiful. I’m simply stunned. It makes me love my favorite browser even more.

This addon is still experimental, but it works like a charm. I have spent a whole night testing it. But you need to have a Mozilla account in order to download it.

Make sure you are using the default unmodified Firefox theme, This only supports Firefox 3.

Create your Mozilla Account

Login to Mozilla addons site

Download the Addon or Plugin

Restart Firefox 3

Enjoy Vista Aero in Firefox 3

Use multiple accounts of the same service with CookiePie

Posted by blacknoise 26 July, 2008 (1) Comment

CookiePie is an extension for Firefox,Flock and IceWeasel. What this plugin does is it lets you maintain different cookies from the same service in multiple tabs or windows. Which means that you can login to Yahoo, Google, Hotmail, My Space, Face Book? and mostly with any kind of services similar to these. So if you have multiple accounts of Gmail, ebay or any of the services mentioned (and not mentioned) above this is the plugin for you.

Peers : The Firefox Search Suggest

Posted by Joel 10 June, 2008 (1) Comment

This is by far one of the most amazing search suggestion plugins ever developed for Firefox. Although It was designed to work with Firefox 2, It works without any fault on Firefox 3 as well. I found this Plugin very useful, esp. when searching for some hard to find things in Google and YouTube.

When you type the search query the extension does a search as you type operation, very efficiently and displays the ?so far? results as a drop down suggestion, this is pretty much similar to Google Search Suggest but in this case this works client-side.

So what are you waiting for? Go and get this wonderful Plugin.
