Sun VirtualBox is one of the best virtualization software around. Although it has many features, there are some important ones which are missing at the moment, I’m taking about the latest version of VirtualBox, Version 3.1.6. One of the important features for me is the ability to boot a Virtual Machine with a USB stick, currently this feature is not available in VirtualBox.
I’m going to show you how to enable this easily with some commands. For starters I’m assuming that you already have VirtualBox installed in your PC. Otherwise get it from here.
Now that you have installed VirtualBox, insert the USB stick that you are planning to boot from.

Windows XP is one of the best OS Microsoft ever produced. Even today when Windows 7 has gained popularity many people still prefer using Windows XP. Windows XP takes less resources and mainly many people prefer is as it uses way less RAM and HDD space than the new operating systems (Vista and 7). A lot of people prefer XP for their small Netbooks and also people with older laptops still like XP as installing Vista or 7 will make those old devices impossibly sluggish.
Netbooks do not have a DVD/CD ROM and what if your DVD/CD ROM in your old laptop is broken and you need to re install XP. This is is a guide for people who have the need to install XP using a USB Stick, although Installing Vista or 7 is comparatively easy using a USB stick, installing XP is bit tricky so here is a simple easy to understand guide on how to do it without running into snags or mishaps.
Prerequisites
Assumptions
From here on I will assume that you have downloaded the batch files and unzipped them and put the WinXP2USB folder directly in C drive so the path to that folder is C:\WinXP2USB and i will also assume that your USB drive letter is H. If these value differ in your system please change accordingly.
This may be a little late but, If you haven’t got it, you better grab it now. Firefox Lorentz has hit Beta 3. What’s different in Lorentz is that it runs all plugins under different threads, this makes it a bit more responsive and fast. And you will not be kicked out of a page when a plug-in crashes.

An Internet Explorer 9 preview has been released, its actually the 2nd preview of IE9. So what is the hype about this new change of the old IE?….. For starters lets start with the JavaScript benchmark, you can clearly see that it passes Firefox 3.6 and its up there with Safari 4.0.5 and Chrome 4.1. Very surprising For an IE version doing this. Since this is a preview the final would or rather should get better than these scores. Also the acid 3 scores 68 out of 100, which is quite ok.
We are happy to say that we are back, recently we had a lot of issues with the server and our host. So finally we decided to switch host, as the current host was terrible and the customer service was absolutely horrible.
We are very sorry indeed for the downtime, and we also lost couple of posts due to some database corruption and server timeouts in the previous host. Hope you will stay with us and continue to visit our site.
I would also like to thank our most active authors Meena, Marik, Nam and my co-admin Blacknoise in doing a fantastic job of posting amidst their busy lives, even I was very busy for the past one year, hence the low post counts on the site. I would like to thank Sam, my friend who has always been there to help me out in times of need, for letting me use his server and helping us get the site back sooner. Finally I like to thank YOU the visitors who comment and help us make this site a better resource for everyone.
The reason a lot of people like Google Chrome is because of its minimalistic UI. Unfortunately Firefox completely loses out on this area as Chrome is obviously much more slimmer and better looking and also very minimalistic, yet it has retained all the functionality of a mainline browser except RSS and Live bookmarks which makes Firefox more usable.
The biggest issue most people with netbooks or widescreen laptops have with Firefox is that it takes more vertical space than Chrome. With its toolbars and fat tab bar. Well I’m going to show you how to make Firefox very very minimalistic and get MORE vertical space on Firefox than Chrome, yet retain all of Firefox functionalities with the help of 3 simple addons and some tweaks with Firefox userChrome.css.
Lets follow these simple steps to make more space to browse and less space for toolbars.
Please note most of these UI tweaks work best with 3 main Strata based themes Strata (FF default and recommended by me), Strata Reloaded, and StrataStripe.
