Windows 7 will be available to the public from October 22nd onwards. They will be starting with OEM versions and retail version will be available in 14 languages: English, Spanish, Japanese, German, French, Italian, Dutch, Russian, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and Chinese

On October 31st the rest of the 21 languages will become available: Turkish, Czech, Portuguese, Hungarian, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Finnish, Greek, Ukrainian, Romanian, Arabic, Lithuanian, Bulgarian, Estonian, Slovenian, Hebrew, Thai, Croatian, Serbian Latin, and Latvian.

And the upgrade option will be available from today(June 26) for people who buy a PC with Vista Home Premium, Business or Ultimate from an OEM retailer participating in this offer. Details can be found here. This option will be available until the 31st January 2010.

As for pricing the upgrade option to Windows 7 is going to be 10% less than upgrading to Vista.

Windows 7 estimated retail prices of the upgrade packages:

  • Windows 7 Home Premium (Upgrade): $119.99
  • Windows 7 Professional (Upgrade): $199.99
  • Windows 7 Ultimate (Upgrade): $219.99

Windows 7 estimated retail prices for the full packages:

  • Windows 7 Home Premium (Full): $199.99
  • Windows 7 Professional (Full): $299.99
  • Windows 7 Ultimate (Full): $319.99

Windows 7 is also available for pre-ordering at a 50% discount(only for select markets) which will be available until July 10th for U.S and Canada, July 5th for Japan. As for customers in the UK, France and Germany pre-ordering will be available from July 15th to August 14th.
