System using Vista SP2 v286 patched by Universal Theme Patcher

Universal theme patcher is a small program that patches the theme specific files in the operating system which enables the user to install 3rd party themes. What special about this is it does just what its name says, it currently supports Windows XP SP2, SP3,Windows 2003/2008,Vista SP1 SP2 and even Windows 7 beta. Currently I installed Vista SP2 v.286 and had difficulty finding  correct patched theme files(actually there was none), so I tried this and it worked way better than using  the files to manually patch and there was no need to go to safe mode either. Read the rest of the post on how to correctly patch your O/S.

Instructions:

1. First make sure to disable any Security suites/Virus guards and disable UAC(if applicable).

2. Choose either x86/x64 based on your operating system.

3. Right-click the application and click “Run as Administrator”.

4. Patch the files according to the O/S (e.g.: XP requires only uxtheme.dll whereas Vista needs 3 files to be patched).

5. Restart the computer.
