Use Firefox addons in Google Chrome

Recently there was a huge revolution in browser technology with Google entering the browser wars with their new browser named Chrome. Well Chrome is still in Beta, yet it has some major setbacks. Unfortunately it lacks the wonderful addons Firefox has.

But since some people like Chrome mainly due to its low memory footprint, they are desperate for addons or added functionality for chrome.

So I did some searching and found some articles to make their life more happy, and compiled all the info into this article :)

Please DRAG ‘N DROP the following bookmarklets into the Chrome Bookmarks Bar

Ad-Blocker – The main functionality most people look for is a way to block annoying ads (I Hate Ads), click on the page to remove ads on a page, so now the ad-block problem is solved temporarily.

Gmail – This – This is another main feature to mail any webpage you are currently viewing, using Gmail.

Video Downloader – Download flash videos from lots of video sharing site like Google videos and YouTube.

Linkify – This is an addon bookmarklet to convert all plain text URL?s into hyperlinks on a webpage.

Socialize ? Submit a blog post from Google chrome to more than 50 social bookmarking website with a few clicks.

Google Pagerank ? Google toolbar was not available for chrome browser,the toolbar has a smart pagerank system,drag this bookmarklet and click on it whenever you want to check the pagerank of any website or blog.

Twitter Now ? Drag this bookmarklet to chrome bookmark bar and whenever you feel like updating your twitter account just click on the bookmark to get a pop up which will let you update the twitter status and check messages.

Dictionary ? One does misses dictionary under your mouse point in Chrome. No more now! Dictionary addon plugin is also here.If you are a thesaurus fan, just drag and drop this (Thesaurus) bookmarklet too on your bookmarks bar.Also you can add a similar bookmarklet for Reference too!

Translate ? Landed on a page that seems Greek to you ? No worry anymore, just click it and see the translation in English. You don’t even need to know the source language.

Video Downloader does not seem to work. Push it and nothing is happening. Tested on youtube and couple of other vid sites. Adblock does the job but I miss “do not show image from … site” right-click feature of Firefox :(

Thanks “theWizard” for sharing the Chrome Addons trick.

@Video bookmarklet:
The reason it doesn’t work is not cause it is wrong but cause it is too long. We had trouble even during posting about it. However you can still get it directly from http://1024k.de/bookmarklets/video-bookmarklets.html which will work :mrgreen: .
