Windows Live Essentials released
Microsoft has released a new set of betas of wave 3 but now its being called Windows Live Essentials. Te updated betas include Mail, Photo Gallery, Messenger, Movie Maker, Writer, Toolbar, and Family Safety, and additional programs Microsoft Office Outlook Connector, the Office Live Add-in and Silverlight.
Also it still is (and probably will forever) using the Windows Live Setup installer which was and still is a pain in the behind. The other inconvenience is that even though it lets you choose what programs you need to install, it doesn’t let you choose what programs you want to update. For instance I use WLM 8.5 and now I want to try out live writer beta, but the stupid program updates WLM even if I don’t want it to be updated.
Besides who wants to remove the stable 8.5 and upgrade to a badly developed WLM 9!..(Why cant these people make standalone installers instead of wasting time)

Direct Links for Windows Live Wave 3
Here are the direct download links (only the main packages) from Microsoft so you can install your product at a later time as an offline installer. First up you will need Winrar or 7Zip as these links are in cab format, and need to be extracted to install.
Important: All prerequisite installers must be downloaded and installed prior to installing a main product. If you fail to do this you will get an error on startup.

Windows Live Wave 3
Windows Live Wave 3 (BETA )includes new versions of Windows Live Messenger, Writer, Mail, Toolbar, Photo Gallery, and Family Safety. However this time Windows Movie maker is also included in the suite.
The wave 3 includes a number of changes. The user interface is more lighter and more cleaner, a calendar option is available in Live mail and a new tool for Live writer which lets you post videos to YouTube directly from the writer. As usual movie maker isn?t impressive at all it has all the usual stuff it had(maybe a few missing) and you cant get anything worthwhile done with it.
Backup Live Messenger Custom Emoticons and Display Pictures
Backing up custom emoticons and display pictures is always a headache when you want to uninstall messenger or upgrade messenger or even if they get deleted accidentally. Well all your worries are thing of the past with CEDP Backup Wizard. This is one of the most important and useful tools I use for my Live messenger. This tool ensures that I have all the emoticons, display pictures and favorite backgrounds backed up.
Why you need the CEDP Backup Wizard
- To protect against possibly losing the files in the future
- Creating a copy of files for transfer to another Messenger account or computer (e.g. from laptop to home PC)
- Saving all your emoticons, etc before formatting
- To backup MSN emoticons, etc before upgrading MSN/Live Messenger versions

New version of Messenger Plus is released. See change log below:
- Messenger Plus! is now better prepared for the future with several internal changes.
- New feature: you can now paste very large chunks of text and pictures into a conversation. Messenger Plus! detects pasting operations that are not originally supported by Messenger and, when possible, generates a temporary file to send to the contact.
- Emotion sounds played by Messenger Plus! are now played in stereo. This fixes problems caused by faulty hardware or drivers that do not handle mono sound files properly (resulting in incorrect playback or no playback at all).
- New feature: all scripts and skins can now be automatically updated! this will ensure you always get the benefits from the latest versions of the components you use without worrying about them.
- Almost all the current scripts and skins are supported by the system. Update check is done once a week, as usual, and you can force a manual check by using the /checkupdates command in any chat window.
- If an update is available, you will be notified once automatically. If you choose not to install a particular update, Messenger Plus! won’t prompt you about it anymore unless another update is available. This was done to remove the annoying factor of this kind of auto-update procedure.
Live Writer Technical Preview Triggers False Expiration
I use Windows Live writer to post and so far it has been very convenient but yesterday I came across this window which was prompting me to update my version because it was going to expire. So I used their download button and it took me to the ?Windows Live? page where I found out(after a lot of meddling?because they don?t have any sense to make a page or software user friendly) that there was no update. So after searching around I came across this article which says its an error caused by Live Writer and its solutions. So if you use the technical preview and you have go this error read below for more details on it.
