WLM Emoticons backup is a small utility that can be used to backup Custom Emoticons, Winks, Backgrounds, Dynamic Backgrounds, Display Pictures in your msn account. This is very useful because it also has the ability to restore all the backed up data. Just make sure to exit live messenger before you do a restore. So this will come very handy if you have lots of emoticons in your account.
WLM Emoticons backup is compatible with windows XP/Vista and seven and also works with the latest live messenger as well. Its about 43KB in size and works as a portable application.

Auto Login to Live Mail Using Firefox
Whenever you click the new mail icon of the live messenger, you are sent to the live mail login page in whatever browser is the default in your PC, so if IE is your default browser then no problem, but most people including me prefer Firefox. Well in that case you will have to (unfortunately) manually login to your email account.
Until now there is no work around for this, but using the following GreaseMonkey script, you can login to your live mail. You have to give your username and password to this script and will automatically log you in. One major drawback is that all your security data is exposed to anyone who visits the live mail site from the specific pc, since this script automatically logs anyone who visits the live mail site.
FYI: There is an alternate more secure method HERE, choose whatever you like.
Before you install this script make sure you have the Firefox add-on GreaseMonkey
Use this script ONLY if you have your own PC with a Password protected account.
Enable/Disable Live Messenger 2009 Photo sharing
Photo sharing was added to WLM 2009 wave 3 onwards. What this feature does is it starts photo sharing automatically when an image is dragged into the messenger window.(pretty cool at the start). What’s bad about it is that if you need to send an image photo sharing is enabled and it takes up your space in WLM window making chatting a nightmare.
So how do we disable Photosharing?
There are two ways this can be done…
1. Patching msnmsgr.exe using a HEX editor
2. Using a 3rd party plug-in for Messenger Plus Live
while the first option removes photosharing permanently the second one gives you the option to change it when you want.
Transformers Skins for Windows Live Messenger

A-Patch 143b2 for Windows Live Messenger 14.0.8064.0206
This A-Patch version is for Windows Live Messenger v14.0.8064.0206 which was released a few days ago. The patch is still in beta and still lacks the full features usually available in A-Patch. The change log states no major changes, only compatibility fixes. Still its the only patch(stable) you can get at the moment.
Windows Live Suite Wave 3 updated: 14.0.8064.0206, Direct links available
The Windows Live Suite has been updated to 14.0.8064.0206 from v14.0.8050.1202. Currently there isn’t any information on changes. As usual you can get it through the Windows Live Installer “web edition” or “full edition” with sizes of 1.09MB and 133.57MB. And if you want to get the standalone exe’s check below. Installing is is pretty much the same as the old suite which was posted earlier.(see installation instructions for WLM suite v14.0.8050.1202). And yes all links are from direct Microsoft links so you need not worry about its integrity.
Released A-Patch (Lite) for WLM 9 Wave 3 (14.0.8050.1202)
Yes, it’s true. The lite version of A-Patch for the new Messenger is here, and highly suggested to download if you’re a Windows Live Messenger enthusiast or simply frequent user. The features of it are are:
- Remove advertisement (in contact list?)
- Remove What’s Hot Section (Apparently it’s the ”What’s New” section)
- Remove Nudge Delay
- Disable Nudge Shake
- Accept more than 3 transfers at a time
- Polygamy (Multiple instances of WLM at once)
- Shorten Status Info in Info Bar
- Remove Advertisement (in chat window?)
- Remove “says” text in the English version
- Remove Billing Info Menus.

Messenger Plus Live 4.80.356 released
Messenger plus 4.80.356 has been released finally. This version is fully compatible with Windows Live Messenger 2009, and also has a lot of improvements made on it specially the scripts and skins section. Read the official post and feature list below.
After a longer than usual beta period, the new Messenger Plus! is finally ready and can be found in the download section of this site. Of course, the main attraction of version 4.80 is full compatibility with the latest version of Messenger, Windows Live Messenger 2009, and when we say “full compatibility”, we mean just that. You won’t find any ”light” trimmed-down version of your add-on here.
Despite the lack of visual changes in the software, the change log shows that many things were done under the hood. As often, scripts and skins in particular got their good share of improvements. There are now more than 500 of them in the official databases of this site. This means that you could spend the next month customizing Messenger with Plus!, its scripts and its skins and you would still haven’t seen everything. Big thanks to all the developers who keep on working on these improvements to make our daily IM life better.
In addition to the bug fixes and cosmetic improvements, this new Messenger Plus! also allows external developers to modify Messenger’s encoded windows’ files (UIB files) like they did with previous versions of Messenger. More information about that can be found in the skinning documentation. Note to all the developers reading this: Messenger Plus! is not required to be installed on your users’ computers for this feature to be used. The UIB files generated by Messenger Plus! can be read by Messenger just like the original ones which means that you can do the modifications you want on your system, encode the files and distribute the final result with your application.

Windows Live Suite: All direct links from Microsoft
As you know there are two main download methods of the Live suite, the web installer and the full installer. So if you need to install a component you will have to get the 134MB installer or get the web installer and install (in case you delete you will have to re-download). Below you will find the direct links from MS to all prerequisite components and main software’s so you can separately install later.
Install instructions:
1. All downloads come as cab files, so you will need to extract the .MSI file inside the cab. For this you can use Winrar or 7Zip.
2. Make sure to install all required components before running the main program.
3. Microsoft Application Error Reporting is already installed and should be installed only if you run into any errors.
